*yawn* Okay, at work, waiting for one of my team members to send me the latest version of our code, and a bit more coherent than before. I'm mildly disappointed: my nickname (Mandolin) was taken. I considered spelling it wrong, but then other people might mistakenly type in the other person's LiveJournal username. Nah.
I've set up my LiveJournal primarily to handle the continual question of "when are you gonna update?" And seeing as how the Weird Web Page is going to undergo a massive overhaul starting when I have free time (read: once I survive this weekend), I'm going to need to let folks know how things are going.
Why not just post update messages? Here's the kicker: The majority of my online time is spent at work since we're preparing for the Big Move and work is slowing down. For obvious reasons (security and all that), I cannot use FTP or upload files to my site from work. Which makes sense, since they allow us to actually browse the Net anyway. And I can update my LiveJournal here.
Besides, I suspect the renovations are going to take a long time to complete. My relatively recent obsession with online comics prompted me to create a links page to my favorite webcomics (sprite comics, manga, dailies, you name it) - and I've spent hours on that page. Mainly because I'm trying to decide on a general style that it should match up to... but still.
I'm not necessarily going to be starting my own online comic; I'd like to, I've got the itch, and with practice I could get better at drawing from memory. But to bring myself down-to-earth, and because Mom wanted me to send her something I scanned, I drew up my own one-shot comic and sent her the link to amuse her. Aside from the fact that I suck at drawing profiles, it took forever to finish. I couldn't do that on a regular basis; I've got too much on my plate already.
I'll post links to folks who are better than me (oh, it's gonna be a long list) next time.
