Nothing to See Here is updated.

Hand still hurts. But I'm still going on my vacation next week. I'm not backing out of it because my doctors keep tossing me back and forth and won't TEST the hand.

Yeah, I'm kind of frustrated right now with the medical profession in general. I've been playing their game for a few months now. Finally, when the specialist decides to contact my regular doctor so I can get some tests done, what does my regular doctor do? Insist on seeing me AGAIN before I can get tests scheduled. I'm moving next week - I HAVE to move next week. I doubt my realtor will let me stay an extra week because of pain in the extremities and doctors dragging their feet.

I'm also mad at myself for not putting my foot down back in March when all this started. I suppose I've been in denial about it being carpal tunnel, but I really should have been more assertive when all I got after two visits to my doctor were advice to ice it, brace it, don't use it (HA!! my boss would love that) and take ibuprofen.

So for those of you out there in the computer industry who haven't had problems yet... keep in mind, the operative word is "yet." Get a natural keyboard, get a more ergonomic setup (contrary to what some people might say, trackballs are not that expensive) and watch how much time you spend at your desk. I'm in my early twenties and having problems, so yeah, it could happen to you.
