2 days to deliver... 10 days to GET THE PACKAGE.

I hate using UPS.

I really, really do.

I know why they can't put mail in mailboxes. I know why they can't just leave packages.

But dammit, I'm tired of them trying to deliver at times when most people are at work and doing the runaround leaving notes for them to leave packages at the rental office only to get a slip with the excuse "Rental office closed." (It's not supposed to be!)

The closest UPS shipping center? All the way down in Laurel.

If I get my packages mauled, I will kill something.

(Note that this was totally irrational. I know UPS' limitations. This is why I like it when I can buy from entities who use USPS. I just needed to vent because I've been getting the runaround for over a week now and I can't afford to take a day off to wait for a damn package.)

Yeah, I need to go for a walk big time.

If this got to be a problem for me (and it sometimes did because the resident managers were out of town), I would have them reroute to the lab. Can you have this stuff shipped to work?

Government office = bad idea.

Can't have personal mail sent to work unless I want Security ripping it open (and I don't think they'd let me anyway).

What I should have done is had it shipped to my parents' house.

Got to love hindsight.

You can call UPS and ask them to redirect it. Especially if they've attempted delivery twice all ready. Explain the issue with the rental office.

Usually if you're assertive enough, they'll help you.

Meh, redirecting it to my folks would be too much of a hassle now - I was there this past weekend, and the UPS pickup center in Laurel is actually CLOSER than my parents' place. Had I used my brain, I'd have been able to redirect it last week, the folks would have had it when I showed up Saturday and I wouldn't be ranting. The problem with going to Laurel is that you HAVE to take 95 South, which is a nightmare half the day.

Worst case scenario, I'll stop by the Laurel office on my way down to Worcester County on Friday to spend the night at Plague's. I can get it that way, but... the mail tag I have to play with UPS is just annoying.
