"wheeee!"

I am a mean, mean person.

On the way back from the Giant across the street (I walked, it was safer in the snow), I noticed a red truck going a tad too fast down Chatham Road. I suspected it was the same driver who likes to FLY out of the court at 40 mph in the morning when I'm trying to back out and honks at me. So when s/he made a left into the apartment complex, slipped, bumped up against the curb and stopped in dead shock ("OMG my invincible tank skids!") I commented, "Wheeeee!" from my safe vantage point on the sidewalk on the other side of the street.

(The driver and truck were fine, I'm not that much of a bitch. But I noticed that the truck proceeded into the complex very slowly. I wouldn't have cheered had anything or anyone been damaged. I think the driver's ego was bruised, but that doesn't count.)

Still, I am mean. I hope for the driver's sake as well as mine s/he makes the turn out of the court at a normal speed tomorrow morning.

Must go get laundry, which means braving cold stairwell. Oh, well, here goes nothing..

I think you could stand to be meaner. LOL.

That's what I was thinking. :))

That's a heck of a lot nicer than I would have been, especially if this person honked at me every morning because he/she was speeding. I might have been a little disappointed that there was no car damage. Sometimes nothing says "lesson learned" like a bite to the wallet.

me, i laugh all the time at the people who take the corner by my bus stop too fast and go skidding around on the ice/snow. of course, no one's hit another car or anything like that, but i still laugh. some times mean is good...you just have to let it out in those little, harmless ways. : )

It is not mean... It's just slighly un-nice. Mean implies some kind of complicity in another's suffering. You merely gleaned a hint of amusement about something that s/he got him/herself into by sheer force of stupidity. It's not like you took to her/his tires with an ice pick or a pack of rabid wolverines...
