Lucky you for replacing it in the middle of summer. The first time ours went out it was dead of winter and *cold* (not to mention raining). So patch with a new element it was only to die again about two months later. Replaced the entire unit with a much more accesseble tankless heater and LOVE it. Ain't homeownership grand? :P

We had to replace ours a number of years ago... and then the county had to come out and do inspection after it was put in (earthquake codes).
