Some fanfic recs...

Haven't thrown out some fic recs in a while, so it's time to remedy that.

First off, it should come as no surprise to anyone that there is already a good chunk of fanfic for "Pirates of the Caribbean" out there. It may surprise folks to know that I've turned up a few good pieces of PotC fic already, though:

Better Left Unsaid, by M. the Inspector
Jack gets drunk and tells Will a bit more of the truth than he'd like to know. Genfic, G-rated, missing scene. A short, clever bit that fills in a plothole that I'd been wondering about myself.

Borrowing Your Heart, by Wistful Gypsy
Despite everything, Anamaria still can't bring herself to hate Jack. An amusing and somewhat fluffy Jack/Anamaria fic that remains true to character for both of them, IMO.

Memoriter, by Vera Dune
At the bottom of the sea, Bootstrap Bill Turner remembers what has brought him there. Minor slash, one-shot that addresses certain plotholes. Really nice internal monologue, the prose flows wonderfully, and the writer describes Jack perfectly. She plans a sequel, and I'll admit to being intrigued.

Anyway, the rest:

Lovers and Dreamers, by Alexia Eve
A Smallville/Muppets crossover blatantly snapped up from [livejournal.com profile] horsechicks. I really can't summarize this one, although Kermit does a good job at one point: "We have a pig who's head-over-hoofs in love with our new boss, talking corn who insulted him, an oddly violent scarecrow, and a missing billionaire! I'd say panicking is a valid choice." Complete and utter wackiness, Lionel joining the hecklers, Jonathan Kent serenading (with) cows, Miss Piggy on the rampage, and I had to reread what happened to Lana twice just for the fun of it.

The rest of the recs will come later... work just took a not-fun turn and for once, it's not my fault.

I didn't think of it til the day after I saw the movie, but I figured that I'd missed something in the dialogue that explained it. Given my tendency to miss details like that, I figured it was just me, but apparently it isn't. :)
