Look! More randomness!

Couple of random posts in one tonight. Nothing long enough to cut.

Co-workers had bagels and juice for my birthday, and I felt kind of bad because I managed to forget my own birthday.

See, we have a Birthday Club at work, where members basically chip in to organize little birthday things for other members. Been meaning to join for months, finally got a hold of the lady in charge of it last Thursday, and she asked, "Okay. When's your birthday?"

THEN it dawned on me, and I went, "Oh, hell, it's Tuesday."

They did something this week anyway.

Will do more N&A page updates, but not til next weekend; have articles to scan (courtesy of [livejournal.com profile] irittdsqrl), and need to go through and put the sound clips up. CBS doesn't care, so I'm not worried anymore.

My brain is evil. Stumbled across an attempt at a Buffy/PotC crossover earlier today, and while it really didn't do much for me, it got the demons thinking.

There's a great Buffy fic, "Courting Disaster," that goes into the background of Mayor Wilkins and his wife, and part of Wilkins' background in that fic was that he was a pirate (unfortunately for the cabin boy on that ship).

That got the demons going - who's to say Richard Wilkins (or whatever name he went by then) wasn't a contemporary of Barbossa and Jack Sparrow?

Never going to write it, the fic in question didn't consider it, but it's a thought to ponder.

Picked up "Cowboy Bebop: The Movie" last week and finally got to watch it. Enjoyed it quite a bit. Now if I could get beyond the TWO EPISODES of the actual series I've seen, I'd be good. :)

You know when you get stressed with friends, you find yourself ranting about them, and then you listen to yourself and stop short?

Argh, I've been such a bitch this week. That must stop now. Promise.

Those who e-mailed me in the beginning of this month and wondered why I haven't replied, I'm playing catch-up. Honest.

So can you watch/enjoy/understand the Cowboy Bebop movie without ever having seen the series? I've never seen the series.

Actually, in spite of how little I knew about the series, I followed it pretty well.

I think fans of the series might complain about the lack of major character development - with the exception of Spike and Electra's conversation in the prison - but for those of us who missed out, following the action is no problem.

Although I need to get my hands on some fansubs. Some things are lost in translation, and I got the feeling that there was more to Electra and Vincent than I could get out of the subtitles.

A friend of mine recently got the whole series on DVD, and I plan to borrow it when I get the chance...
