Happy New Year, everyone. Tried to post on the 1st, but I lost the wireless signal I was picking up at Grandma's and got home pretty late.
So - hope everyone had a good holiday. Spent Christmas with my folks, and spent New Year's Eve at Grandma's so she wouldn't be stuck home alone sick that night.
Operation: Organize and Clean the Office has kicked off. So far, I've gotten through the window seat, the right half of the writing desk and the art shelf. (I say the right half of the desk because the cabinets are in the left half.) It's a start.
I only made it halfway through my Christmas cards by the time the semester ended, so - I'm going to finish them all anyway and then send them. So if you're getting a holiday card a month after the fact, you know why.
Anyway, I actually have some resolutions for this year already:
1) Cut down on the hair-twisting habit.
2) Cut back on RPing. Don't get me wrong, I really enjoy the LJ RPs I'm in, but lately I've come to realize that's the main reason I haven't been checking the friends list and posting to my RL journal.
3) Stop cocooning and get caught up with everyone already.
4) Get the office cleaned up and organized by January 29. There's so much junk in there I can't put away because I don't know where it should belong.
5) Organize all the Italy pictures: Jen's photos, my photos and Dennis' photos. Edit the video and put it on DVD.
6) Assemble some sort of daily/weekly routine again.
7) Handle the little things when they need to be done - make the bed in the morning, wash the dishes when they need to be, FILE THE STATEMENTS WHEN I GET THE BILLS. This way, stuff shouldn't pile up.
8) If I try to do the "in-store pickup" thing from a store website, I'll always call the store to verify that they really do have the item. (Okay, personal experience, Circuit City's online database sucks.)
9) Start writing my 2007 Christmas cards in September.
10) Get back to doing yoga and tai chi on my own regularly.
11) Keep exercising regularly - and do all my stretches. (I'm already walking two miles a day, but it hasn't started snowing here yet.)
12) Try to fit some website updates and fixes in. (In all fairness, that's probably not going to be done before the semester starts.) I'd like to overhaul the whole thing, but again, I'm being realistic.
Heh, I think this is going to grow as the month wears on... and I need to go keep one of those, get off the computer and wash the dishes now. :)
