I give up.
Aug. 29th, 2004 11:38 pmIn response to the constant reminders that we need to post our G2004 con diaries in Ask Greg by the 31st, I can only say this: I'm sorry, but I've officially given up.
Spent what little free time I had this weekend using Mom's computer to type out all of Saturday, Sunday and most of Monday, from the Masquerade to Closing Ceremonies to laser tag. Brought the USB storage device home only to find that all my work had been eaten by a disk error. It's gone. Poof. Kaput. (And I ejected the sucker properly before I removed it! I KNOW did!)
The deadline is August 31st. It's nearly midnight on August 29th, and I am throwing in the towel.
I start grad school on Thursday. I still need to get forms, get a parking permit, get ahold of the Bursar's office to make sure that my payment goes through, get my books - oh, and we're wrapping up our big project at work this week. There is NO way I can get the con report re-done by Tuesday night. I can't. I am sorry.
I've posted an apology in Ask Greg. I really wanted to detail my experiences, I wanted to go into all the wonderful and amusing things that happened, but there's no way I can do that in time to satisfy the impatience of the PTB. I suppose all they care about is numbers, anyway.
I'm really, really sorry. I just can't do it in time.
