Well, in my case, if LJ was going to crash, it picked a good time to do so. Of the 16 hours it was apparently down on my end, I spent 7 of those on the road, 7 asleep, and two hanging out with Plague in Ocean City before she came back up with me Saturday morning. So I sort of missed the whole thing, and while I noticed I couldn't get to my LJ when I got back, it didn't matter because I shortly had four very hungry people arriving at my place. Cue a food and shopping spree - mainly for manga and anime because the Borders near me is well-stocked in the former.

We had a lot of fun and spent many hours camped out in my apartment watching movies and mocking movies ([livejournal.com profile] cleolinda's "Troy in 15 Minutes" - see [livejournal.com profile] m15m - makes so much more sense now, although the Trojan horse scene was kind of disappointing).

Fortunately, unlike the last time the SisterHood descended upon my apartment for a long weekend, it did not snow. (The light dusting does not count since all it did was dump a bit of snow on our cars.)

So today, the weather is making up for it.

I forgot my lunch, so I got my coat on and headed out to go to the Subway near work. I came out of the stairwell, looked out the glass doors... and stopped dead when I saw it was totally white out there. I did get to the Subway and back, but it wasn't easy. I had a CD with the Indiana Jones theme on it in my car, and it was highly appropriate driving music. Fortunately, everyone else on Security was taking it easy for once. Yeah, I picked a great day to forget my lunch.

Haven't been available on IM because I've been going bonkers over a bug that (I thought) was in my part of the application. (It was something else.) I'm leaving early today. Might be available later this evening.

Think I might have to pass on power walking today? ;)

"wheeee!"

I am a mean, mean person.

On the way back from the Giant across the street (I walked, it was safer in the snow), I noticed a red truck going a tad too fast down Chatham Road. I suspected it was the same driver who likes to FLY out of the court at 40 mph in the morning when I'm trying to back out and honks at me. So when s/he made a left into the apartment complex, slipped, bumped up against the curb and stopped in dead shock ("OMG my invincible tank skids!") I commented, "Wheeeee!" from my safe vantage point on the sidewalk on the other side of the street.

(The driver and truck were fine, I'm not that much of a bitch. But I noticed that the truck proceeded into the complex very slowly. I wouldn't have cheered had anything or anyone been damaged. I think the driver's ego was bruised, but that doesn't count.)

Still, I am mean. I hope for the driver's sake as well as mine s/he makes the turn out of the court at a normal speed tomorrow morning.

Must go get laundry, which means braving cold stairwell. Oh, well, here goes nothing..
