Honestly, I didn't think that the US had it in them. I really didn't. I thought I would never see this in my lifetime.

Maybe there's hope for the US yet :) Maybe everyone wants change and is ready to change.

It's ... the sort of thing for which you need to take some time to make sure the words are right. You know, so it doesn't feel like you're backing up the Boston Pops with an out-of-tune kazoo.

(Can a kazoo be out of tune? For that matter, can a kazoo be in tune?)
