Fishing for suggestions...

Hey all -

I'm in the market for a hand-held digital recorder for recording interviews for my class study (I can't write fast enough or remember enough not to tape) and maybe for recording D&D quotes again. Any suggestions? Not looking to spend any more than $50 if that's even possible.

Yeah, Mom, I think I "put away" the old tape recorder last semester and for the life of me I can't find where "away" was exactly.

My phone has a digital recorder. Have you checked if yours does and what the capacity might be? With a memory card you might already have a solution in hand.

A digital one would be better than that "tape" recorder of mine! Chris has one to help him "rember" stuff, but he left it at home! Do you need it soon?

You've got at least two GB memory cards for your digital camera, yes? Put it on Record, and there you go. Cheap. Easy. Somewhat harder to misplace since one tends to go looking for one's camera more often.

Barring that, I swear I heard about a cheapie flash-based digital audio recorder, but can't imagine when/where. I'd suggest DealMac/Amazon as a starting query, though.
