Got up this morning, dragged myself out of bed and went out on the porch. Not much in the way of wind, no rain. I figured my hopes at being able to stay home today were shot, so I got dressed.
On the news, though, a lot of places were closing down. So for the heck of it, I dialed the inclement weather line to see if there were any delays at work.
Now keep in mind, I work for an office that almost NEVER closes down. In the past 2 years, it's shut down exactly ONCE (and two delays). They even opened on a day where the snow and ice was so bad I couldn't get my car two blocks. We even had the commissioner announce on PA yesterday that they were going to do their best to ensure normal operating conditions.
My office is closed today. No delays, no liberal leave, just closed down. And Isabel hasn't made landfall yet.
Damn.
