Code review = evil.
Jul. 14th, 2004 10:45 amYes, I know I've been out of touch for a little while. Here is the reason - I'm going CRAZY.
Friday morning I'm getting on a 6:30 am flight out to Ohio for a wedding, and will be flying back in at 11:30 Sunday night. (I could have gotten better times, but the tickets cost $150 as opposed to $625. Um, no.) So, in the meantime, I've been trying to get things organized at home and get my affairs in order so I won't have anything hanging over my head on Monday.
Simple? Uh, no.
The Quest to Organize the Apartment still rages on. I've got the linen closet done - but there's still that walk-in closet that's been mocking me, not to mention the question of what to do with my old Dell. I need to plug it in somewhere and reformat it. I need to find a good way to destroy a bunch of redundant data CDs so I can toss them without worrying that someone's going to fish some of my old duplicate data out of the trash. (By a "good way" I mean a way that does not damage other appliances. I'm not going to play "look at the colors when you put a CD in the microwave.") I need to put away all the receipts I've gathered.
Not to mention that we have to do code review at work - the most mind-numbing, time-wasting, incomprehensible part of any development process - and I've been assigned 23 pages and 5 processors to go through with a fine-toothed comb. By close of business Friday. Now this is understandable given that I am currently someone else's backup. I have told EVERYONE above me on this project that I will be MIA on Friday - and am still waiting to find out who to refer people to in the "I am out of the office" message. Not that I expect anything will get done without a lot of BS; 75% of the entries on the checklists are irrelevant and/or nonsensical. Hate code review. Hate hate hate hate hate it. And this time around I don't have a new fic by
ganeris to save my sanity with. ;)
...Anyway.
I'm leaving at 3 today. Don't care what is or isn't done. I've got too much to do and not enough time to cause myself unnecessary stress and/or shoulder pain over something like code review.
To end this on a slightly more pleasant note, I have a working scanner...

*giggle* LOVE that shot, War. ;)
