Oct. 13th, 2004 06:23 pmPicked this one up from
bktheirregular.
Name a CD you own that no one else on your friends list does:
Supernatural, Des'ree. Only CD I've ever bought without hearing one song from it first. I don't think she released any singles, so this is my most likely candidate. (Or not.)
Second try: They're Everywhere, Jim's Big Ego.
Name a book you own that no one else on your friends list does:
McLendon's Syndrome by Robert Frezza. (I will be stunned if someone else has this one. I only picked it up because the author based the lead female character off my Dad's girlfriend at the time - they were friends in college.)
Name a movie you own on DVD/VHS/whatever that no one else on your friends list does:
Geez. Since the robbery makes this hard, I'll put out my most likely candidates before and after the robbery:
Before: Election
After:Cutthroat Island. It was $5, and I was curious. (The only other candidate is U.S. Seals 2, and I know
athersgeo has a copy of that.)
Name a place that you have visited that no one else on your friends list has:
...I don't think there is such a place.Anyone else been out to Ft. Laramie, Wyoming? (I only offer that because when I mentioned it to a co-worker this weekend, he said I was the first person he'd met who'd been to Wyoming state.)

Date: 2004-10-15 12:49 am (UTC)Hee. Good for you. And where in Colorado is your family situated?
McLendon's Syndrome is probably one of the sillier SF novels out there. It's hard to describe, but the title syndrome is a condition likened to vampirism - the main difference, which most people ignore, is that the sufferers in this case have a craving for chocolate chip cookies as opposed to blood.
*blink* Okayyy... hee. I like that.
Oh, and one of the major alien species featured in the book (much to the main character's chagrin) has modeled their society off of Bucky Beaver stories. Also, the female lead Robert Frezza based off my Dad's old girlfriend tortures the male lead with puns. Constantly.
It does sound fluffy, but I like it.
Both it and the sequel, The VMR Theory, are out-of-print, but you can get them used.
Puttin' it on the list of things to look for....

Date: 2004-10-15 10:21 am (UTC)I've got cousins on my Dad's side in Colorado Springs and in Denver, and one of my uncles on Mom's side lives in Laramie, WY. So we used to make occasional week-long trips out that way in the summer to see everyone. Haven't been out there since '96, though...
