Why I'm not doing NaNoWriMo...

mandolinI've got too much on my plate.
To wit, the things I'll be trying to work on this month, in order of priority:
1) My part of the research paper for our group project. I've spent too much time trying to get the group to an accord, I need to dedicate more time to researching and organizing my section of it. I expect to be camping out in the UMBC library tonight. (Since the library's remote connection software is Windows-only *growlgrumblesnarl* I can't access their periodicals from home. And I'm not even going to consider installing it on my work computer since I like having a job. Stupid technological monoculture.) At least we got a decent presentation date (Dec. 7), but I need to get cracking.
2) I have an unpaid commission to finish - a gift I'm working on for someone from me and Mom. It's got to be done by December.
3) Need to get my act together to get pre-authorized for a mortgage.
4) Must toss some stuff up on eBay again. I have given up all hope of hearing from my last bidder from that May auction and have said the hell with it. And I need Paypal funds to transfer to my checking account.
5) Plug in my old PC and clean it out properly so it can be donated somewhere. I can't donate it to the Lazarus Project with all the crap that's on it now, and I can't just let it sit in a closet.
6) My contribution to the SisterHood round robin, which may end up being just a paragraph at this rate. *sigh*
7) Somewhere in there, do my Christmas shopping. I will NOT go out shopping on the day after Thanksgiving or Christmas Eve.
8) Web site cleanup. Must fix webcomic links (I don't read half of them any more) and clean up the redundant sections of the site.
In short, if anyone's wondering, "Why haven't you written any new fanfic?" ...does this answer your question?
