Okay, sent an overdue thank-you e-mail. Check.

Set up to tape Stargate eps that my folks couldn't tape when they first aired. Check.

Stared blankly at part 19 of "Sharp Edges" for ten minutes until I gave up on the demons for the night. Check.

Wrote Gamine the rambling review I thought I posted... no. Crap.

*sigh* I'll have to save that for next morning when I'm not about to pass out.

Some unsolicited advice?

I was there not long ago. What helped me immensely was trying to craft an outline of what needed to happen in the parts that were causing me so much trouble.

Just on a slip of paper.

Of course, the chapter I wrote didn't resemble the chapter I outlined all that much ... but it helped to give focus.

Just my $0.02...

I've actually got most of the fic itself outlined, but maybe I'm going to have to outline the fight scene itself for logistical reasons. And rewatch some Witchblade and Buffy fight scenes. (And re-read the books that gave me the idea for the Boss.)

Part of me is desperate to finish this just so I can write Spike-meets-Ian and the inevitable Angel comparison: "All he needs is the nancy-boy hair gel and he'll be set." The demons tempt me with bits and pieces and then drag things out in between... :)

Figuring out what's happening where ... actually *determining* what's happening where, that's a really hard skill when you're describing what's basically half-organized chaos. Sometime you should try plotting out three simultaneous running battles knowing that they've got to all come together at a particular point in time.

:)

But seriously, charting out a single scene *can* help.

And suddenly I'm wondering who'd win the brooding contest. And how someone gets handicapped in a brooding contest. Sugar? Coffee? Psychedelics?
