Wow, it's been an up-and down couple of days. Guess I'll go over the Cliffs notes version.
Tuesday's exam didn't seem to go well; I bombed a couple of the essay questions. But Dr. L must have given me partial credit, since according to the grade posted online, I managed an A anyway. (Or maybe she misread my scrawl as the right answers? *hopes*)
Thanksgiving was nice, although I seem to be starting a tradition of being late for Thanksgiving dinner - I got tied up working on a DVD project that I have discovered is way too much for the likes of iMovie to handle. Anyone know if there's something in between iMovie and Final Cut Xpress for the iMac? I don't need something as major as Final Cut, but I need something that's not going to choke on a long slideshow and insert static like iMovie does. I didn't miss dinner at Grandma's entirely, and in spite of her worries had PLENTY to eat. (It is impossible to eat dinner at my grandmother's and NOT have enough good food to eat. :) )
I did go shopping on Black Friday - for about an hour around 8 pm after my stepdad's 60th birthday party. I picked up some clothes for the little ones on my list. I finally got to meet my new nephew Ethan, who's three months old and adorable (my stepbrother is still wondering how he wound up with two good-natured kids). I think I'm the only one who didn't hold him - I still remember when Jeff freaked at me holding Leah, and figured heart attacks were not something I wanted to inspire. I ended up watching Aladdin with Leah and relieving her mom and dad of having to watch it yet again, and blew bubbles with her and pushed her on a swing and got tackled by her on Saturday. She's gotten so big! I still can't believe she's three already.
Saturday afternoon and Sunday were spent on attempts to work on the paper - and the only thing that annoys me about having an iMac is that I can't remotely connect to UMBC's library database with it. *sigh*
Then again, I got reminded yesterday of why I got an iMac in the first place - my work computer got infected with that stupid IE-hijacking CoolWebSearch spyware that won't let you go anywhere and keeps bringing you to the page that says "Spyware detected! Download our removal tool here!" I want to find the owner of oz.msie.tv and throttle him/her. Most spyware tools can't delete it, and I'm not mucking with the registry on my work computer. So I'm using Mozilla this week and am sticking it out until the XP reimaging next week. (Never thought I'd be so happy about that reimaging, but hey...)
As for the project, I woke up with a sore throat this morning. This does not make me happy. I will not be looking forward to trying to give my part of the presentation with my voice this strained. I am not running a fever, and the throat doesn't hurt so much now, but it still annoys the heck out of me.
However, I'm apparently not sick enough to have lost my appetite, which is a good sign. Lunchtime...
