So the hotel we're staying in has a public computer with DSL access. Since it hasn't been nuked by spyware, guess where I am this morning?

Been an interesting couple of days so far. We flew into Atlanta on Sunday to discover two new things:

1) Atlanta's airport makes Montreal International Airport look like a piece of cake.
2) It was actually COLDER in Atlanta then it was way up north in Maryland. Anyone else notice something wrong there?
3) We are very lucky people. Mom was horrified to realize she left a gift bag with a very hard to replace item in it in the middle of BWI. After playing telephone tag, we discovered that it had been recovered right past Security, was intact and they'll be holding it for us when we fly in on Wednesday.

After we finally managed to rendezvous with my aunt and uncle for the two and a half hour drive to the hotel and the homestead, we dragged the trip out a bit with stops. First, Aunt Kathy confirmed that it wasn't just me and we were both starving, so we stopped at a Denny's. (I have NEVER seen such a tiny amount of pretzels given on a flight before. You can tell AirTran is going bankrupt.) The food was okay, but the service was a little off.

The first screw-up was kind of funny, though. She took orders from my aunt, uncle, Mom, and Chris and was walking away when I exclaimed, "Hey, I need to order!" That set off everyone laughing because I was the one who was the most gung-ho to get food. We got our food, ate, and finally gave up on getting the extra hot water for our tea so we just paid and left.

Then I dragged it out further since I had to stop at the CVS near the hotel. This should not have been a problem since the CVS was five minutes away from the hotel. However, the lovely woman in front of my at the pharmacy had six bags' worth of stuff, and was trying to RETURN some stuff as she was buying a ton of stuff along with her prescription. Very considerate.

We finally got to my aunt and uncle's in South Carolina around 6 for dinner after calling and explaining that we were not dead. Spent half the time checking the computer for project updates via e-mail. I actually got phone updates from one member who hadn't submitted a thing - I think I'd scared her a bit. Right now, I'm waiting on one more thing before I slap everything together tonight and submit it via turnitin.

I have seriously missed hanging out with my cousins. I am the quiet one in this bunch, but that's largely because I am too busy being entertained to contribute. From the stories of Uncle Dan's first white-water rafting trip (with visuals) to the discussion of the worst pick-up lines ever at dinner last night, I'm certainly not bored. Oh, and it was always fun to tease the lone Republican in the family (which was what was going on during that noisy PhonePost I left yesterday), and to be honest, even that's pretty easy-going.

And it's 9 am, and the shower is free, so that's all for now...
