Okay, ran some errands after work, got dinner, got home at 6, started unpacking and cleaning.

About four and a half hours later, I can say this:

1) I'm pretty much unpacked.
2) The kitchen is (almost) clean if you ignore the floor.
3) If a cop came to look at my apartment right now, he/she would think someone ransacked all the other rooms. Seriously.

Yeah, this cleaning spree is going to take a WHILE.

In completely unrelated news, I was cruising ff.net and found, of all things, a fanfic in the Games section - a fanfic for the NES game StarTropics.

StarTropics has to be one of my favorite NES games ever. I remember spending HOURS on that game the summer before sixth grade, even renting it once, getting to Chapter 4 on the rental and having to call my friends who had an unmarred copy of the manual and begging them to dip the enclosed "letter" in water to get the code. (Said friends had not made it through the insanity that was Chapter 3 yet, and were kind of annoyed with me, but they gave me the code.)

I still have a copy of it at my parents' house somewhere. I'd love to have had the chance to play the sequel, but I think you have to pay out the nose to get a copy on eBay. No, thanks.

I once even tried to write a story based on the game inspired by those "Worlds of Power" books they came out with based on NES games. I never finished it, and deleted it eventually, but I made up for it (sort of) by writing a Captain N fan story set in StarTropics.

So I'm just tickled to see a fanfic based off of it. The beginning's pretty rough, I'm not sure if I know where the author's going with it.. but I'm still amused.

Unfortunately, it started the demons chattering about the possibility of a StarTropics/MIB crossover. As weirdly plausible as the idea is (and it may just turn into a vignette), I need to go kill some of them now so I can shower and go to bed. ;)

Hopefully LJ won't do anything too weird with this, but I had to read that twice.

For a second there, I thought I was experiencing deja vu or something.

(Yikes, and I thought my room was bad.)

I'm always complaining about my own messy habits, but it's gotten seriously bad. If I had a roommate, she'd kill me.

It doesn't help that said apartment is also in need of serious organization as well as cleaning. So once my bedroom's clean, I get to dive into the closets.

Come yard sale season, I suspect I'll have a lot to contribute. (I don't think I have the energy to try to hawk my old HP scanner on eBay. I really don't.)

*hugs*

I know the feeling.

If I only knew what to get rid of. :(

Clean? House?

What pray tell is this housecleaning of which you speak?

*Thinks about the exploded toy store that once was my living room*
