Things that make Mandi ignore her cough more easily

Ugh. The cough has moved up. Now I'm getting the congestion, post-nasal drip and look like Rudolph. I keep telling myself that it's progressing, that this means I am going to get over it, but damn, when it was down in my chest and not generating so much phlegm I didn't cough this much.

Fortunately, I have an array of distractions:

• My big black fuzzy bear slippers


• Lots and lots and lots and lots and lots and lots of tea


• Longer-than-should-be-allowed-but-it's-okay-because-I'm-sick-dammit hot showers


• My new DVD recorder


• The tape of "Cat and the Canary" that just came in the mail yesterday (I didn't check the box til today). Thank you, Perri! *virtually hugs neonhummingbird*


• violetbloom and cleolinda and jonathlee for making me smile.

And speaking of hot showers, I think I have just enough time to use up an exorbitant amount of hot water before the Oscars start... later, all..

(P.S. Barring a freaking miracle, I'm calling in sick tomorrow. I go in like this, I'm sure my team lead will take one look at me and order me to get my ass home and in bed.)
