7 days til settlement. 32 boxes packed.
The mountain in the dining room is growing ever larger.
Not dead, but kept myself occupied this weekend. Saw Batman Begins, and I really enjoyed it. I'll review it later. One member of our group really did NOT like it at all and didn't want to elaborate on why. I am willing to see it again with friends who haven't seen it and might like it.
I got tied up during the second half of the week freaking out about mortgage issues, then got fed up and had my mother talk directly to the loan officer. Had one unnecessary panic attack because it did not dawn on me what HELOC stood for. *facepalm*
I am still going through with the settlement on Monday, but geez - Mom confirmed my assertion that Jeff's interpersonal skills SUCK. The rates he offered me were good, and he's been up front with me throughout the whole thing - otherwise, I'd have brushed him off a while ago.
Anyway, despite the quiet, there was D&D on Saturday, and there wasn't much in the way of quotes since
jennies was in Newport News. So far, I suck as a thief; I sabotaged the DM's initial attempt to get me in the group because it made sense to run from the barbarian when he and the fighter were arguing about what to do when I gave them back the 10 gold *someone* stole from their cleric. I got in via a lame excuse and a need to get out of town, and consistently rolled well in the battles. But at the VERY end of our last fight, I rolled a 1 and broke my bow. There were no settlements in sight, which means in terms of missile weapons (hey, I'm a wuss with 19 dexterity) I'm SOL. At least if I roll another 1 and, say, toss my sword into a lake by accident, I picked up a couple of spares while looting. Bah, should have gone Chaotic so I could blame my non-clever moments on randomness.
You know, I think it's a good thing my apartment lease doesn't run out til July 31st. I think I'm going to need all the time I can get to move into the new place and clean out the apartment. If I had to get everything packed up, cleaned up, shut off, and locked up by Monday... I'd be a nervous wreck.
