To a certain someone who was in the ladies' room by the Video Gaming room at Otakon this afternoon:

Now I blame myself for leaving my camera in the ladies' room for five minutes, because that was stupid. The loss of my camera didn't upset me as much as I thought it would, because I assigned some of the fault to myself. However, I give most of the blame to you, you little entitlement bitch.

If I happen to catch you walking around the convention center with a PowerShot S500 with a very distinctive flaw on the top of the camera, I cannot guarantee that you will walk out of the convention in one piece. What I can guarantee that you're going to at least need some serious dental work when I am done smashing your head against the stone floor of the Charles Street lobby. The staff is not going to be able to get through the masses of people quickly enough to keep me from inflicting some serious pain.

It may get me kicked out of the con, but it will be so worth it.

(Everyone else: So if you see a girl dressed up as Yukino (in slumming mode) from Kare Kano beating someone else up at the con, you know why.)

I was going to try to work on the G2005 con report, but you know something? I'm pissed at myself, I'm sore, and I just realized - no one cares about the contents!

Seriously, if the whole damn point is just to get something posted at Ask Greg by the end of August... why bother even trying to write a good con report? All that matters is the numbers. I don't know why I'm even bothering to try to write it up.

I'll post a two-sentence "I was there" at Ask Greg when I'm feeling less sarcastic and then wash my hands of it. Maybe I'll get a good, decent con journal done and posted here, but I'm not rushing it because Disney's going to want to see a certain number of responses.

You know what, for as much as I've been spreading the word on Greg's request. I don't disagree with you at all.

Ack, cannot believe I forgot to comment on the camera.

If you need any help kicking ass, let me know. That whole thing sucks.

*comfort*

It is possibly (although, I admit, unlikely) that someone picked it up and plans on either turning it in at the Lost and Found, or posting an "I found this" somewhere. I've picked up a number of jewelry items in ladies' rooms and (after asking the people immediately in the vicinity if it's theirs) posted signs or turned it in, depending. So don't give up all hope yet.

I visited the Lost and Found about three times, and five hours later, no one had turned it in. Even if the person went into the Fan Parodies, those were over well before my last check in and it's not hard to find someone in a staff T-shirt and ask if they have a lost and found.

I'll check again tomorrow, but I'm not holding out hope. If I see someone USING my camera - which is easy to identify because of the piece of metal sticking out of the frame at the top (not damaging, but very obvious - it'll pretty much drive the point home that they didn't intend to return it...

I really feel for you - it's more than losing a possession, it hurts that someone would do that. (Speaking as someone who left her favorite ring in a bathroom for TEN FRIGGING MINUTES... ahem.)

Sorry about the camera. "I was there" sounds like a pretty damn good post to me. It's accurate if nothing else. Go for it.
