This is what I've been doing in between tearing my hair out over this homework assignment that really shouldn't be this hard. Snagged from [livejournal.com profile] estirose.

Directions:
1) If you want to do this meme, DO NOT click on the LJ-cut before you do.
2) Pick 12 characters from any fandom and list them numerically.
3) After you've picked your 12, click on the LJ-cut and answer the questions yourself in your own journal. (Make sure to cut the questions so other people can pick up the meme!)

So here's my 12:

1. Inoue Orihime (Bleach)
2. Dr. Theodore Morris (Now and Again)
3. Eric Myers (PR Time Force)
4. Charles Gunn (Angel)
5. Major Samantha Carter (Stargate SG-1) - Yes, I know she's a Colonel now, but my viewing tapered off in season 8 (and a bit in season 7), so I'm using a timeframe before that.
6. Dr. Eric Foreman (House, MD)
7. Dawn Summers (Buffy the Vampire Slayer)
8. Saki Hanajima (Fruits Basket)
9. David Xanatos (Gargoyles)
10. Sara Pezzini (Witchblade)
11. Kaylee Frye (Firefly)
12. Megabyte Damon (Tomorrow People)

Who would make a better college professor, 6 or 11?

Dr. Eric Foreman or Kaylee Frye? Hmm. Well, Foreman would be more likely to get that job, but I'll ignore that for now. Both of them would get along with the students (although it'd take Foreman a little more work to get them to open up to him), and neither one's lacking in smarts. I'd say Foreman in terms of confidence - he probably wouldn't have a problem with teaching a class, and Kaylee would convince herself that she's not cut out to do it. (Although having her teach you how to make an engine behave when all you have is the equivalent of duct tape and paper clips would be fun - and she could pull it off.)

Do you think 4 is hot? How hot?

Is Gunn hot? Is the sky blue? Does Angel use hair gel? I think I've gone into great lengths in this LJ before why I've thought so since he first appeared (and was thrilled when he became a regular on the show), so let's move on.

12 sends 8 on a mission. What is it and does it succeed?

Honestly, Megabyte wouldn't be able to send Hana on any mission unless it was to maybe save Uo or Tohru, so I suppose she'd be helping save a kidnapped Tohru (among others). She would probably be the diversion while Megabyte got the captives out of there, since he can teleport and she's not called the "electric wave girl" for nothing. It would succeed, but I'm sure that Megabyte would be kind of annoyed since Hana would take the opportunity to fry one of Tohru's captors just a little more than was necessary.

What would be 9's favorite book?

I'm sure David Xanatos has a special place for Sun Tzu's The Art of War on his bookshelf. Several editions.

Would it make sense for 2 to swear fealty to 6 or the other way around?

Dr. Theodore Morris swearing fealty to Dr. Eric Foreman? It'd probably be the other way around. Foreman would definitely have a lot of respect for Theo given his apparent reputation. I don't know about "swearing fealty," but he'd probably defer to the man who pioneered human construction sciences and who could be an intellectual match for House (I swear, I've got this niggling thread of an idea that Greg and Theo were colleagues at some point, but it just won't expand or go away).

For some reason, 5 is looking for a roommate. Should 5 share a studio apartment with 9 or with 10?

If Sam Carter was looking for a roommate, she'd definitely pick Sara Pezzini (10) over David Xanatos (9). For one thing, both Sara and Sam are female, David is male and his wife Fox would kill him. Even if for whatever reason he was estranged from Fox, Sam would be suspicious of him from the outset. Not to mention that Sam and Sara have a lot in common and even if there's going to be some awkwardness (like Sam's classified work and Sara concealing the Witchblade), they'd certainly bond over motorcycles if nothing else.

7, 2, and 12 have dinner together. Where do they go, and what do they discuss?

Dawn Summers, Dr. Theodore Morris and Megabyte Damon have dinner together. *head hurts* Okay. Um. Yeah. I'll just ignore explaining what they're doing there, although I figure it would at least be a fairly nice but casual sit-down restaurant (Theo is not a fast-food person). Once Theo realizes that Dawn's smarter than the average 17-year-old (do you know any other 17-year-olds who apparently learned Sumerian over a summer?), they might get into a discussion of science vs. the supernatural, and Megabyte would be bored to tears. I don't know what Megabyte and Dawn would discuss, unless the others at the table knew he was a Tomorrow Person. Theo would be fascinated from a scientific perspective, Dawn would be curious about the whole no-killing thing... oh, forget it, this scene isn't working for me.

3 challenges 10 to a duel. What happens?

Eric Myers challenges Sara Pezzini to a duel? (Assuming this is Eric at the end of Time Force?) Well, let's see... Eric would initially get his ass handed to him because he probably wouldn't know about the Witchblade and would settle for conventional weaponry. Then if Eric morphed... since the TV series has never been clear about the extent of the Witchblade's power and since it's fickle, I'm not sure. Eric would probably get the upper hand due to the Witchblade being fickle, although if something blew up Sara would be as well protected as he (let's see, she survived a huge gas explosion, walking right through a direct flamethrower blast without a scratch), and probably by the time they'd managed to level a building, Wes would get there and break it up and probably get himself hurt, at which point Eric would finally call it off.

If 1 stole 8's most precious possession, how would 8 get it back?

The only way Orihime would steal anything of Hanajima's would be completely accidental since she doesn't have a deceptive bone in her body. As perceptive as Hana tends to be, she would probably figure out that it was accidental and ask for it back instead of resorting to deception or the threat of her electric powers. Orihime would get distracted and confused and momentarily lost in a fantasy about aliens attacking on the way to school and probably wouldn't understand what Hana was talking about. After a minute or two of non-communication, Ichigo would get fed up, walk over, grab the item out of Orihime's backpack and hand it to Hana.

Suggest a title for a story in which 7 and 12 both attain what they most desire.

Dawn and Megabyte? *blank look* For some reason, "Take Me Seriously" is the only thing that pops to mind. I don't know why, class has killed my remaining brain cells.

What kind of plot device would you use if you wanted 4 and 1 to work together?

Charles Gunn and Inoue Orihime, working together? Well, let's see - there's the language barrier, the fact that they're on different sides of the Pacific... okay, the language barrier could be solved by setting it during or after season five, since I'd assume that with Gunn's law knowledge W&H had the sense to add an understanding of certain languages

If 7 visited you for the weekend, how would you get along?

Dawn and I would get along fairly well, I think. I might bore her to tears. ;)

If you could command 3 to perform any one task or service for you, what would it be?

Eric Myers? Being commanded to perform any one task or service?

*cough* Aside from the obvious? Well, there are certain people I'd like to make disappear...

Does anyone on your friends list write or draw 11?

There are plenty of people on my friends list who've written excellent Firefly fanfic, and a great deal about Kaylee.

If 2 had to choose sides between 4 and 5, which would it be?

If Theo would have to choose between Charles Gunn and Sam Carter, he'd side with Sam - because of her military and scientific background and because the argument would boil down to magic versus science, and Theo would be firmly on the "science" side (just look at how determined he was to expose Reverend Kelso in "Disco Inferno").

What might 10 shout while charging into battle?

Oh, we already saw that in the series. Sara Pezzini usually settles for the patented Incoherent Scream of Rage, if I remember correctly.

If you chose a song to represent 8, which song would you choose?

*blank stare* And of course this meme selects Saki Hanajima, the most impossible person to pick a song for. I'm going to pass on this one or the meme will never get done.

1, 6, and 12 are having dim sum at a Chinese restaurant. There is only one scallion pancake left, and they all reach for it at the same time. Who gets to eat it?

Inoue Orihime, Eric Foreman and Megabyte Damon? Foreman would probably back off immediately when he noticed that the Bottomless Pit was going for the last one. Megabyte and Orihime would go for it, and they'd both grab it at the same time, Orihime would pull back and apologize and say she's not hungry, Megabyte would be about to eat it, then he'd hear Orihime's stomach growl, notice Foreman glaring at him and then hand her the last pancake.

What might be a good pick-up line for 2 to use on 10?

If Dr. Theodore Morris was ever inclined to pick up Sara Pezzini, he really wouldn't resort to a pick-up line. I know I said this with Chad and Dawn on the other meme, but there are two possible things he would do. If he was seriously smitten with her, he wouldn't be able to get a sentence properly strung together in the first place. If it was casual interest, he just wouldn't go for a pick-up line.

What would 5 most likely be arrested for?

Sam Carter getting arrested? She'd probably get framed for something, or get arrested for doing her job (but the local cops wouldn't know what was really going on).

What is 6's secret?

Foreman's secret would be that he has been guilty of breaking and entering once since his juvenile record and before he worked for House, who ordered him to break into patients' apartments for clues. Nothing major, he didn't take anything, hurt anyone, get caught and it was for a good reason at the time, but if House knew he would never shut up about it and that one incident on his juvenile record will continue to haunt him even more.

If 11 and 9 were racing to a destination, who would get there first?

Kaylee and Xanatos racing? Xanatos would have the lead for most of it due to the sophisticated equipment he has, but at the last second Kaylee would get the power to Serenity's engine boosted enough for Wash to get the lead... and then as soon as they landed, something in the engine would blow up. Kaylee would blame herself and Xanatos would pay for the supplies to fix it because he's impressed - not because Jayne and Mal are threatening to shoot him.

"1 and 9 reluctantly team up to save the world from the threat posed by 4's sinister secret organization. 11 volunteers to help them, but it is later discovered that 11 is actually a spy for 4. Meanwhile, 4 has kidnapped 12 in an attempt to force their surrender. Following the wise advice of 5, they seek out 3, who gives them what they need to complete their quest." What title would you give this fic? Name three people on your friends list who might read it. Name one person who should write it.

"Inoue Orihime and David Xanatos reluctantly team up to save the world from the threat posed by Charles Gunn's sinister secret organization. Kaylee Frye volunteers to help them, but it is later discovered that Kaylee is actually a spy for Gunn. Meanwhile, Gunn has kidnapped Megabyte Damon in an attempt to force their surrender. Following the wise advice of Sam Carter, they seek out Eric Myers, who gives them what they need to complete their quest."

"April Fools." I mean, come ON; Kaylee, a spy? Gunn in charge of a sinister organization (unless he was playing both sides)? Xanatos teaming up with Orihime?

I'd probably have to write it. I don't know how, but I don't think any of my friends are familiar with all the fandoms.

If you had to walk home through a bad neighbourhood late at night, would you feel safer in the company of 7 or 8?

Dawn or Hana? Hana, hands down. Dawn may be Buffy's sister and have learned from watching her, but I would feel safer with Hana's Electric Wave and the fact that she can scare most people with just a look.

Okay, I ran out of steam when I came back to some of these questions, but I am really fried.

On the other hand, now the Angel/Bleach creativity demons won't shut up. Unless I ask them to explain what the heck Illyria is doing in Karakura Town in the first place (which is one of their major plot points), then they bitch that I'm asking too much of them. Oh, well, two out of three isn't bad.
