So, here is the week in review, or Why I've Been Going Nuts.

Last Tuesday: Survived debate. Didn't even have the time to get to some of our major points, but who cares, it's done.

Wednesday: Tried looking up stuff for Dell Online case study, run errands, tried to clean things. Saw "Charlie and the Chocolate Factory" for $2 at UMBC with [livejournal.com profile] jennies. Highly entertaining.

Thursday: Muck with work stuff (troubleshooting mostly). Mike found one good article for Dell Online case study. Have a hell of a time messing with the SealedMedia plugin I need to read the stupid thing. Have to put off having co-worker come install phone line. Bought space heater because it's not cold enough to turn oil burner on but my bedroom was freezing. Mom came down and helped me out with house stuff.

Friday: FINALLY got the article downloaded and printed. Only then did I realize that contrary to my belief, Homework #3 was due on Tuesday as well as the case study. Dammit. Tried to work on homework, couldn't apply half the questions to my public-sector job experience, got permission to do the generic questions. Generic questions made no sense to me. Tacked up beach towels over windows in living room to keep some of the heat in because Mom had my curtains (this is post-painting, remember) Put all my summer clothes away and hung up my sweaters and warmer clothes instead.

Saturday: Mom and Chris showed up with curtains, tacked those up as well and got heater approved. Ran around with laundry, errands, tried to pick apart Dell Online article. No luck making sense of homework. Mintzberg configurations make my brain hurt. Had DSL outage in afternoon, so couldn't contact Mike about the case study.

Sunday: Finally got a chance to collaborate with Mike on IM, and here's where all hell broke loose....

See, there were two case studies scheduled for the 25th: Dell Online (us) and "Ford: An Interview With Dell." The latter case was supposed to be a comparison of Dell's direct sales model with Ford's legacy model and how Ford could adapt the direct sales model for its own business. But Mike talked to one of the guys on the other team, who said that Dr. G told them to basically ignore Ford. Which might mean some overlap, but we weren't sure, so we tried our best to hack out the case study and discussion questions.

Monday: The other group posted their summary and questions. Panic time. No mention of Ford, it's all about Dell's direct model, and consequently all their discussion questions overlapped ours. We had to rewrite half the case study, and come up with new questions that the other team didn't - which was difficult since the other team had a lot of questions. Monday night, I begged Dr. G to let us post the case on Tuesday and explained why. She replied that it was her fault and that she'd given the other group the wrong idea. Oh, and I still hadn't gotten Homework #3 done. Meanwhile, Mom and Chris came over, brought in the new table, insulated the front A/C unit, made me dinner, put up new hooks in the bedroom and new lights in the basement, and I love them to death for it even though we had to beg Chris to go home so they could get home at a normal hour.

Yesterday: We finally managed to put the damn slides and case study up at 3:20 p.m. Homework #3 still wasn't done; I just barely got it done in time. I ran out the door at 4, dropped my notes in the parking lot, Homework #3 got wet, I spread it out in the back seat in the hopes it would dry on the way to school, I parked my car at 4:20, grabbed my homework and RAN across campus to make the 4:30 class. Then, when it was time for our case presentation, I started losing my voice and could not get the vending machines to take my money to get some water. Hence, I kept coughing and losing my voice through the whole thing. Went home, tried to summarize question answers, fell asleep on the couch.

Today: Posted the summary. I still feel like I could sleep for a week.

So, yeah, been busy. My own fault for signing up for a debate and a case study that were back-to-back.

Anyone seen my brain? I think it went on strike sometime during the last two days and is still at large.

Someday we'll get a chance to coordinate our schedules and see each other again. Sorry I haven't had a chance to call you back when I had time to sit and talk.

Wasn't Charlie and the Chocolate Factory quality entertainment?
