Strangely enough, when my son was that age, he loved having a plate of mixed fruit and raw veggies for dinner, with maybe a boiled egg, some cheese or a small yoghurt to go with it. Now, at 19, it's all I can do to get him to eat some cooked veggies for dinner along with his meat & potatoes/rice/pasta. He'll go for sweet stuff most every time if I'd let him -- and yet he's complaining about his weight. *headdesk* Not that he's fat or anything, he just could stand to lose 10-15 pounds (which, at 6'5", isn't THAT bad) ... and of course it's my fault for buying cookies and sodas in the first place. Grrr.
I guess the term "self-control"/"discipline" isn't quite part of his vocabulary ...
