Why I get nothing done, aka Saturday....
Jun. 23rd, 2003 11:32 amSaturday, I'm lying on my bed with a headache, having decided not to make the trek to Towson to pick up some stuff for the con (I'll do it this afternoon) and deciding that I'll just nap off the headache, then get up and work on some of my projects since plans to go out with Pain have fallen through. Given that this is the only free Saturday afternoon I will have for the next month, that sounds smart.
So the phone rings. It's my aunt. I wish her a belated happy birthday, and she asks me what I'm up to.
"Lying on my bed," I say honestly.
"Why aren't you here yet?"
Blink. "I'm supposed to be?"
Grandma's birthday party was scheduled for Saturday, starting half an hour before I got the phone call. Somehow, nobody remembered to tell me this. Oops.
So I'm lying there still in my workout clothes, a complete and utter mess. Takes me an hour to get showered and cleaned up, then half an hour to get down there. So I showed up two hours late for the whole thing.
It was lots of fun, and I got home around 11 with my to-do list undone and too tired to do any more of it.
So if anyone asks me why I didn't make any progress on my fic writing, that was Saturday, and I had to go to a wedding on Sunday. Do the math. ;)
