Okay, con journal is still pending. Work is INSANE since we all just hit the "ohshitwe'regonnadie" homestretch. Also, my cell phone vanished last night, and after finally concluding it was lost/broken/stolen (I called it, and it was turned off. I never shut it off and the battery was good), ran around trying to find and activate my old phone for the month remaining on my contract.

Also, picked up Blue Beetle #28. ...I am once again grateful that Will Pfeifer is NOT the regular writer. Not going to go into details, but I don't think anybody was in character, and I saw the big "twist" coming miles away. Also, the resolution? Was ridiculous. Seriously, Jaime was a hell of a lot more in character in his Manhunter cameo and that wasn't even his own book!

Sturges had better be good. I realize John Rogers is a tough act to follow, but after the two months of Pfeifer-penned suck I'm missing his work on this title even more. If the quality continues to go downhill, I might actually drop the book.

Anyway, back to fighting with image uploads now.

I wasn't impressed with this latest Pfeifer issue either. He's very hit and miss. His Aquaman and Catwoman runs were brilliant. Amazons Attack was a third trimester abortion. It's really easy to tell when he's not into a title. I don't think he's that into Blue Beetle.

Matt Sturges was really good on Shadowpact. He really stank on Salvation Run. The upside is that Salvation Run was editorially mandated shit. So I do cut him some break for it, but it doesn't excuse his horrid characterization of Wonder Woman's villains in that miniseries.

Yeah, I figured as much. Still, not being that into a title didn't really excuse that ending. Feeble or not, retired or not, you don't just let the old dude off the hook when he's letting his pet do that kind of property damage!

*sigh* Sorry. The suck of the last two months has actually killed any and all inspiration for the BB fic ideas I was beating off with a stick back in March. Filler doesn't excuse it-- #26 was at least cute and the characterization was accurate and Jaime's grandma was made of epic win. It's also depressing because I'm sure all the people who said they would finally pick the book up after #25's concentrated awesome have changed their minds now.

Then again, if Sturges isn't good, I guess I'll have more spending money? :)

Oh absolutely. Don't spend your money on crap. You might be interested in next month's Teen Titans issue. It's a Blue Beetle/Kid Devil spotlight issue. I have a feeling it's going to be very good.

I had the same issue with the ending with the old man's dog. Ok, so you let the dog live, but they didn't do a goddamned thing about keeping it from going around and destroying things around town again. FAIL.
