...about regaining the inspiration to start drawing again after a couple years of not drawing anything.

Suggestions on how to do that?

Yeah, I know it's different for everyone. Just brainstorming, really.

I know I write and don't, but I find popping in a movie on the computer or firing up some music helps. Occasionally I'll get motivation when chatting with somebody too. *shrugs*

Try joining one of the LJ ACEO groups. They do little art card trades and that way you get a piece of art and so do they. Plus you are more likely to draw outside of your usual realm of stuff.

Try a subject or medium you've never done before -- like watercolor if so far you've done only acrylics, for example. Landscapes if you've done only flowers, and so on.

I do the same whenever I feel like getting creative -- learning a new craft, or even applying crafts I'm familiar with to make something I've never made before. Can be fun.

Good luck! :)

Lovely shiny new pencils or pens - even a small set - and maybe some paper you haven't tried before. Once you start playing to see what they can do, you may find yourself drawing almost automatically.
