Okay, delayed lemmingness, but hey, I think I'm going to try this meme. Yes, I've finally caved and decided to do the "Spot the Lie" meme. (Mom, Dad and

jennies are not allowed to respond because they probably know what the lie is. War, you can torment guessers.)

NOTE: Had to reword some of these because I re-read them and went... "Wait, that's not right." (10/13/03)

1) I started to read at the age of two, surprising the heck out of my mother in the supermarket when I read a brand name off the shelf.

2) I went to a karaoke bar with some friends once, but chickened out at the last minute and didn't go up to sing.

3) I can recite the alphabet backwards in under 6 seconds flat.

4) I have been able to hold my breath underwater for three minutes flat, but I can't dive to save my life.

5) I am one degree of separation from meeting Paul Newman. (As in, the "six degrees of separation" theory?)

And while I'm getting caught up, excluding food and household items:

1) A pair of Easy Spirit shoes for full price, because I'd pretty much killed my tan suede boots and I was sick and tired of trying and failing to find comfortable, affordable shoes in my size. (Shoe shopping sucks. Anyone want to trade shoe size? Please?)

2) Volume 3 of the FAKE manga, the very last copy on the Waldenbooks shelf. Hey, I didn't think it was coming out til next month, and I saw it first.

3) Amazing Spider-Man #58 (#499). Reserved a copy of the next issue, just in case.

4) A 9-pack of blank VHS tapes for all the shows I'm going to need to tape.

5) A Baltimore County road map (it was half price, and I've all but torn my old one to shreds on road trips).
