Since I'm supposed to be productive...
Oct. 28th, 2003 07:03 am...it's time for a meme. Grabbed this from

Buffy the Vampire Slayer - The first episode I saw all the way through without having to play with the antenna to get decent reception (since during Season 1 our cable wouldn't carry the WB): Innocence. Dude. I had a basic knowledge of the show from my hall mates, enough to understand what was going on and - even though I hadn't been privy to the Buffy/Angel relationship before - knew exactly why the other fanatics I was watching it with were screaming and cheering at certain parts.
Now and Again - I'd like to say the previews hooked me, because I was raring to watch it since I read the TV Guide preview article in August '99 and went, "Why on EARTH didn't I ever hear about this show?" But to be honest, the pilot - which suffered from a great deal of setup and exposition - didn't exactly hook me. It intrigued me, true, but I didn't really click with it. Then the second episode of the 3-part opener, On the Town, aired. It immediately crystallized a number of things the pilot had hinted at: Michael's desire to see his family again, even from afar while washing dishes, Morris' twisted sense of humor (playing God: "I will smite your ass so fast you'll skip straight past heaven and hell and be turned straight into pus."), just how hysterical and gullible a comic foil Roger could be, Lisa's grace in dealing with Misenbach, and the incredible chemistry Margaret Colin and Eric Close had. (And Eric Close spent most of the ep either shirtless or in a tank top. What's there to complain about?)
Firefly - I have Plague to thank for introducing me to this one. And I'd have to say that the episode that really hooked me was Our Mrs. Reynolds. I kept freaking missing episodes, though, which irritated me to no end. Thank God the DVD is coming out.
Angel - I got hooked on the show and then had to get hooked again after Doyle died and I went, "THAT'S how they wrote him out? Give me a break..." The first time, it was Rm W/A Vu, which not only proved that Charisma Carpenter could be damned funny, it introduced Phantom Dennis, who I still miss. The second time, I kept watching it post-"Hero" and being mildly amused by Wes, but I didn't really believe the show would keep going until Five by Five aired. That episode finally made me take the new ensemble seriously.
Stargate SG-1 - I'm honestly not sure. I think I was sold with Children of the Gods when I first saw it on Showtime the summer of '97. Although to be honest, the moment when I knew I was hooked was when I got the tape of There But For the Grace of God and squealed when I watched it. Such a dork. (And then, of course, I went home for Spring Break, saw Within the Serpent's Grasp and screamed at the TV set.)
Gargoyles - The Edge, hands down. I'm not sure why, but it just seemed to illustrate Xanatos' ability to manipulate, and his desire for power and control, so well...
Charmed - Honorable mention goes to That 70's Episode. I paid little or no attention to Charmed until maybe Season 3, and even then I watched only sporadically. Still, I wouldn't have bothered to watch it at all had I not been channel surfing and came across a repeat of the ep where the sisters went back in time and met their mother. (This is honorable mention because I'm not technically hooked. I watch Charmed, I'm amused by it, but the ridiculous way they dealt with Cole kept me from really getting hooked.)
Highlander - Another honorable mention, since I watched the show on and off and out of order in syndication over the years. I got interested in it again with a viewing of Til Death - more flashbacks with Fitz, Methos and Duncan going to extreme lengths of matchmaking, and an incredibly funny ending when Gina figures out what the hell is going on. (And the look on Duncan's face when Methos starts referring to "his barge" is priceless.)
Quantum Leap - Don't remember.
Lois and Clark - Got hooked on the Season 1 pilot, but when they kicked out the original creative staff it was blatantly obvious and I got tired of the show.
Power Rangers - Ugh, my interest in this has gone on and off like a light switch depending on the seasons and the babysitting charges who were/weren't hooked on it. I can't pick an ep, although the first series' Green With Evil was a trip, especially with Evil!Tommy telling Kimberly off, chewing scenery left and right, actually being a convincing villain, with one of the Rangers trapped without powers trying to avoid becoming a shish-kabob... yeah, it's always been cheesy, but that was just fun to watch. (And that was the week our TV died, of course.)
Star Trek: The Next Generation - The pilot. Watched it with Dad since I was seven.
And I can't remember the rest.
Anyway. I know I've been MIA for a bit; I spent the weekend at Mom's, and from Saturday afternoon through Monday morning she had no Net access. Not a peep from Bridget since Wednesday.
Went to the doctor yesterday; he wrote me a script for a glucose tolerance test and told me "no sweets." Period. I'll obey, I'm not a twit, and I have cut down on my sugar intake, but... no sweets?
*whimper*
Yeah, I need breakfast. :)

Otherwise, an incredibly strong, good natured and healthly person. (If that is any consolation in case you do end up with that diagnosis).
