Okay, clarifying a few things on my WIPs.
Jan. 6th, 2004 09:31 amSo I was mucking around last night, and have made a decision on my two big WIPs. Both are being pulled from their archives because I'm tired of the nagging, but that doesn't mean they're dead. I plan to finish them. Eventually.
"Sharp Edges" is getting revised. "The Key and the Sword" is being rewritten.
Why? Well, looking over "Sharp Edges," you can TELL I had an outline, that I had a plan. It needs some fixes, but the narrative is pretty tight. In fact, a lot of it, even looking back on it two years later, is still very good and salvageable. And I think I could probably fit it into canon without reworking the whole thing. I need to pull out my Witchblade Season 1 tapes again.
As for "The Key and the Sword" ... aside from some handfuls of good moments (mostly the Dawn/Adam friendship), this is one messy story. You can TELL I got lost along the way, and that the story started spinning out of my control. Skeletor's little experiment was contrived and unnecessary, as was Dawn figuring out who He-Man was. And the fight scenes? Gah. Don't get me started. This story's definitely being gutted.
I'm pulling them both and reposting for a couple reasons:
1) Both need to be revised at least anyway, and changing posted chapters will just confuse people. The Darcy issue in "Sharp Edges" is an illustration of that.
2) It's been a LONG WHILE since new parts of either story was posted. Most readers of the stories either will have forgotten about them, or will have to go back and reread to get caught up. Not a good way to bring them back.
Last but not least, a note to
jennies: Forget about the Blackmore's Night mp3s, War. I'm just going to buy the album anyway. Worth it since most of it's good to write to.
